How does the installation process work?
The installation process for installing hand railings includes several steps. First, we speak with each customer to determine if they have already selected the rail they would like installed or if they would like to select one from our railing offerings. We then need to determine the area where the railing is to be installed and how much railing is needed as well as if there are any specifications we will need to consider when preparing for the installation. The installation process will look different for a stairway railing versus a deck or balcony.
Once we know the area and have the desired railing, we will obtain the necessary fixtures needed and will schedule a date and time with the customer for the installation. Several representatives will arrive on the day of installation and then work to complete the project. The customer may be present if desired, and this is typically preferred so that we can let them know we have arrived and get any last minute details if needed. Our team of experts then completes the installation and reports completion to the customer so they can continue with the final details of their project.
How long does the installation process take?
This also varies depending on what type of project we are installing (deck, balcony, stairs, etc), as well as the length of railing we are looking to install. It will typically take approx 8 hours to install 25-30 feet of railing on average. However this is definitely an average and we may be able to complete some projects in much less time with more of our staff, or may need additional time for more complex needs. However, after gathering some information about your project, we are usually able to give you a fairly accurate time estimate of how long it will take to complete along with an upfront quote of likely cost.
How much does installation typically cost?
The cost of handrail installation consists of the cost of the actual handrail itself, the installation fixtures needed, and the time and labor required to complete the project. For this reason, cost varies widely on a per project basis, as we must factor in the type of handrail you would like installed and the length needed to determine an estimate of time needed to complete the installation and the cost for labor to install. For this reason, and to work within our customer’s budgets, we typically offer customized quotes for each project.
